New Babies

Dear Friends
Life is slowly getting back to normal after two months of traveling and visitors. We have really enjoyed our time with family and are already looking forward to seeing them again in June when we go home for my little sister Adrienne's wedding.

In other news… there are three new babies at the Baby Centre!:

Joshua who is a one year old sweetheart!

Seth is only 3 months old and is very fussy, but so cute!

And finally baby James, who was 5 days old when we got him and is very tiny – he’s still less than 5 lbs! He is a precious little bundle.

Erika Ressler (my friend from high school) has finally arrived too! After quite an adventure she is safely in Nakuru. On our way to pick her up, the clutch went out completely on our car, so we were stuck along the side of the road for a few hours! Fortunately, another missionary was able to pick Erika up and we were rescued by a tow truck. We’ve had a great few days with her in Nakuru, especially spending time at the Baby Centre… unfortunately, we are still car-less! We are also very excited to welcome home Staci Keter, the Baby Centre director, along with her family! It has been wonderful to have her back – we pray the Keters gets settled in quickly!

Hi Colleen and Cason, this may be a duplicate message since I had to register with Google. Thanks for the pictures, we can appreciate your feelings about the Clinic -Cason are you also working with the FINCA microfinancing agency? We have supported this organization for a long time. they supply small loans to women wanting to start a business from their homes! We will look forward to seeing you at the wedding in June, Love Aunt Patty and Uncle Earl

About us

We’re Cason & Colleen. We met at Taylor University in Indiana, and started dating while studying abroad in Ireland in 2004. We got married a few years ago and since then we’ve been enjoying journeying with the Lord together.

We started this blog in 2009 before we left to work in Kenya, but now that we’re back, we’re going to try to keep it updated with what is going on in our lives. We were in Kenya for almost a year and a half, and while we were there, Cason worked as the treasurer for a mission organization, and Colleen worked at an orphanage for 0-4 year old children. Cason also helped organize a local soccer team, and we both led a local church youth group.

We returned to the US in December 2010 and spent a few months based at Colleen’s parent’s home in Wooster, Ohio, while we figured out what was next for us. We were trying to seek the Lord during that time, but it was/is difficult to know what to do, especially with all that has happened in our lives the last few months in Kenya (see our blog archive).

The first few months in Wooster, Cason continued to work remotely as the treasurer for the mission, while Colleen helped care for the family puppies. (Cason ran the puppy blog, DoodlesbyRosie).

After taking some time to travel and visit friends and family, we ended up moving to Danville, Kentucky, south of Lexington, to be closer to Colleen's extended family and some good friends. Cason works in the finance department at the local hospital, and Colleen has been substitute teaching and volunteering at the humane society. We've gotten involved at a local church, and are loving the community there. We're also in the process of adopting domestically, and have revived the blog, in part, to document those proceedings.
